How to Identify Your Personality, Strengths & Weaknesses in 15 Seconds and Make It Work For You

I bet you that in 15 seconds, I can read your personality and tell you what your skills, strengths and weaknesses are - and how to make it work for you in business.

Reading personalities is an art form, and an extremely potent way of connecting with people in a deep, meaningful way. In business a deep, meaningful connection means lasting profitable relationships. It's also a powerful way to get to know their greatest strengths and also, their greatest weaknesses. You will be surprised at the difference between the two.

Once you're able to identify your own personality with an exercise I'm about to reveal, you'll be able to read your prospects', customers' and co-workers' personality and connect with them in a way you never thought possible.

A Simple Exercise to Help You Identify Your Personality

Based on four shapes - a cube, a pyramid, a wavy line and a ball - I'd like you to think about what shape resonates with you the strongest. What would be your first choice? What's your second choice?

List the four shapes in the order that appeals to you.

Once you complete this exercise, read on to find out your personality type.

What is Your Personality?

The first shape is the cube - The Systems Person.

You are an analytical person who likes to cross the T's and dot the I's. Your greatest strength is your ability to think things through, analyze in detail and avoid fatal mistakes. But your greatest strengths can also be your greatest weakness because you can be held back when you analyze too much. You tend to hesitate in making decisions until you have all the facts and you generally refuse to take risks or act spontaneously without the facts. Making mistakes is not an option, so you limit the opportunities that come your way as a result. You are task driven, and need to be less picky with other people so you can relax and enjoy the view.

The second shape is the pyramid - The Results Person.

You are driven to succeed. Results are important, and reaching your goals is number one. You want to move as quickly as possible and sometimes you push too hard and jump into the action too fast without having all the facts available to you. This can slow you down. You need to learn from the analytical and try to not be so pushy. You are a control freak! While it will help you succeed, it won't make you the most popular person around. Learn to slow down and inhale the fresh air. Give people more room to come on board and learn how to have more fun just for the sake of it.

The third shape is the wavy line - The Idea Person.

You have an extreme amount of energy, excitement and enthusiasm for life. You are an ideas person who has a million of them. Unfortunately, you don't always follow-through on these ideas because you don't focus long enough to figure out what will work. Before you know it, you're dancing onto the next idea. Keeping up with you is hard, but if you slow down, pay attention to the details, and learn to be more focused on the task at hand, there is no limit to what you can get done.

The fourth shape is the ball - the People Pleaser.

You just want to make people happy and will quickly raise your hand when someone needs help. However, your ability to take care of others doesn't extend to yourself. You quickly take on more than you can handle which builds resentment. You are stubborn and generate a great deal of pride, which stops you from sharing your feelings in a meaningful way. You would do well by learning how to move out of passive and into action so you can say NO and mean it. Worry less about what other people do and think, and work more on the tasks at hand and you will succeed.

Excellent Tips On Becoming A Great Graphic Designer

You're contemplating enrolling in an online college to receive an associates in Graphic Design. But you have one ignorant question though. Do you have to be artistically capable at freehand drawing, painting, sketching or have 'talents' to become a good graphic designer?

When you saw nice adverts on television or cool and stylish web designs on the Internet, you think that you can do the same. But when you tried it and cannot visualize what have you been storming in your brain you feel like a complete failure.

Here is some tips on how to become a great graphic designer.

1) Rules of thumb; have a positive mind.

Do not think that you cannot come with a good design. Being creative is a subjective matter. Drawing, sketching or painting is a skill. A skill can be acquired through continuous practice. Nobody has been born with an instant skill to draw. Even a popular artist cannot make a million dollar worth of painting when he is out from the womb. They become good by practicing every minute, everyday honing their art skills.

2) Be passionate

We're willing to do what we like the most. Before you start jumping in this field, you have to ask yourself "Is this something that I will love and really want to do?" Can you sacrifice most of the time sitting in front of the computer sketching with your tablet? Can you spend hundreds of dollars to buy a book just to become a great designer? If you starting to have a doubt, turn back. It is not too late.

3) Spend some time on research

Buy art and design books. Flip through page by page and study the design of others. Think why their design has become very popular and well accepted by the society. Is it the usage of color? Is the color blend well with the whole concept? How about the interface? Will the user be able to use the website without putting much effort in learning? You will received better knowledge from books and magazine in Borders then by the books most instructors include in their curriculums. If you have plenty of money to spend, get yourself magazines, comics. Not a porn one though.

4) Do not be afraid to be rejected

We all afraid to be rejected. You have spend a lot of time finishing your design but when you show it to the world, they simply rejected it. You do not have a slightest idea on why they reject your work. All they do is bashing your work with harsh words. Simply put, do not give up after hearing their critiques. Most of the bad critiques are not from the design field. They just trolling around to test your patience. You know your work the best, if the critique can somehow help you make the design better, take it.

5) Good equipment does not equal to good design

-Some says they cannot produce good design because they does not have a high end equipment to do their work. This is probably true if you are already a well establish designer. You need a faster workstation to output your nonstop creative ideas. What if you are just starting? A very good designer can come out with a great artwork with any tool that they have at the moment. A good comic artist can draw on a single thin paper with charcoal and its accepted by the reader. They do not even need a thick white paper with a heavy duty mechanical pencil. What is needed is only the idea and medium to convey it to the people.

6) Love your self

Research has proven that a good night sleep boost human creativity or problem solving ability thus providing us innovative ideas. Study indicated exercise stimulate creative thinking and make more oxygen to boost brain power to last for a few hours. If you stuck on a problem, take a rest. Do not push yourself too hard.

7) Always carry a notepad and pen

You would never know when the idea will come and strike you. It may come when you are on your bed and about to sleep; it may come when you take a walk in the park with your dog. When the time comes, you may think you have the power to remember all the good juices but when you reach home and sit in front of your desk it is all gone. Jot down any idea that crossing on your mind on the notepad. Its long lasting.

That is only some part covered on how to become a great designer but most of the tips written above are the important aspect for you to becoming the graphic designer you want to be.

Be Selective When Dining from Life's Buffet

Someone once remarked that time was like a self-serve buffet table from which we make choices. To extend this thought, I would also suggest that we choose carefully from this smorgasbord of activities on life's table. After all, we only have room for so much. Here are five suggestions to ensure that your life's meal is a healthy one.

1. Don't over indulge. Most people take on too many activities. Their eyes are bigger than their plates, so to speak. Only take what you can comfortable handle without putting yourself under stress. Recognize that you can't do everything. Studies show that when given a choice between having fewer things to do and more time to do the things they are already doing, most people choose more time. They don't want to give up anything. Life, like a typical buffet table, has too many items to choose from. If you are already overwhelmed with what you have taken, simplify your life and get of the things that are unnecessary and bring little satisfaction.

2. Select the nourishing items. There is so much junk food on life's table that it's easy to pick the wrong things. Ignore most of the TV, computer games, mindless chatter and spam. Go for the items that will have the greatest positive impact on your life. The 80/20 Rule says that 80percent of your success, enjoyment, income and so on come from just 20 percent of the things you do. Choose those few, meaningful things that will have the greatest impact on your life. If you set personal goals first, you will have a much easier time identifying those items.

3. Don't choose on an empty stomach. Just as you tend to over-indulge when you are hungry, if you have plenty of room for more activities, you tend to take on more - without much thought as to their importance. We frequently overestimate the time we available have because we lose track of everything we have to do until deadlines rear their ugly heads. Make sure you have already reserved space for the essentials, such as adequate sleep, exercise, family and personal relationships and self-development on your planner. By scheduling time in your planner for those activities that you have already taken on, you will quickly see that there is little time left for others. Don't rely on "To Do" lists only. They tell you what you have to do; but give no indication of how long it will take you.

4. Choose a balanced meal. Everything in moderation should be the rule. Don't go overboard with a few enticing activities. You want to lead a balanced life rather than become a workaholic, for instance. So plan ahead. Determine your personal values, what you really enjoy doing, the friends you like to spend time with and make sure that what is selected and scheduled in your planner reflects those values. Not only should you set personal goals, you should also develop personal policies to live by, such as "I will never work on Sundays" or "Any decisions affecting my family will be discussed in advance with my family," and so on.

5. Make sure they're your choices. Don't be unduly influenced by well-meaning family members and friends who think they know what's good for you. What they like is not necessarily what you will like. Choose what you enjoy, not what you think others might like. People tend to have more respect for other people's time than they have for their own time. This does not mean you should be selfish. Just give yourself equal billing, and learn to say "no" when taking on a task would be detrimental to the health and welfare of you or your family.

Life has many choices to offer. To manage your time and your life effectively, you must make choices based on a well thought out plan, not on impulses or whims. If you don't, you may find your plate overflowing with other people's priorities, and time wasters that will have no positive impact on your life.
